Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been dethroned by Afghanistan all-rounder Muhammad Nabi in the latest updated ICC T20I ranking released on Wednesday.

Shakib was absent from Bangladesh’s squad in their two-match T20I series against UAE. As a result he lost five rating points in the latest ranking and Nabi moved back top without playing a match. Currently, Shakib’s rating point is 243 while Nabi seats on top with 246 rating points.

With good performance with the bat against the UAE, Afif Hossain jumped 11 places in the batter’s ranking to 40. However, Liton Das, Mahmudullah and Shakib lost points and dropped down to 42, 56 and 75 respectively.

Meanwhile, off-spinner Mahedi Hasan, who was dropped from the Tigers’ World Cup squad, is the highest-ranked bowler (15) for Bangladesh despite going down a single place.

However, Shakib, Nasum Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman trickled down to two positions each (20, 27 and 34 respectively).

India and Pakistan’s star performers have made big gains in the latest update of the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Player Rankings for T20Is.

Veteran batter Mohammad Rizwan has retained his top spot in the batting charts after his brilliant displays in the ongoing seven-match series against England.

Rizwan has notched up scores of 88 not out, 8 and 88 in the second, third and fourth T20Is against England, helping him maintain his position at the top. His performances helped Pakistan win the second and the fourth T20Is, with the series level at 2-2 heading into Wednesday’s fifth match.
